This is my amazing achievement for today’s lunch hour, Arceus being put through the grinder that is my *artistic vision* filter. While doodling this the more logical part of my brain was going “this may be a liiiiittle much” while the considerably less rational bit went “NO IT’S NOT ENOUGH I CAN DO WORSE WE HAVE TO GO DEEPER.”
The inspiration behind this interpretation of Arceus comes from the fact that in the official art, Arceus’ front legs don’t bend like those of a standard quadrupedal animal, but instead have the structure of human legs; and that its design is (according to Bulbapedia) in part inspired by a centaur, despite not having a centaurian upper-body.
For this for-fun project, the legendaries are being brought down to a more non-godly station, being known instead as cryptids, like the first two games, as opposed to deities and demi-gods as they have been assigned in the more recent titles.

Here’s a pretty fun challenge for you guys!
Go to this site and generate a single random Pokemon.
Now try to come up with at least three different character designs for that pokemon, no matter what you get. (Yes, even if you get Klink. That’s what makes it a challenge!)
This is an nice exercise to improve your design skills, but is also especially useful for PMD-E! Being such a big group, you often bump into a lot of Pokemon of the same species, and sometimes accessories/colors aren’t enough to tell them apart. Being able to put a lot of variation into characters is a great way to prevent that from happening.
That and it’s really fun.

Oh god, I thought “oh this challenge sounds like so much fun! and a good excercise too!” and then I was like “why is this so hard ;_;”… I swear I tried, I really tried hard xD I kinda like some of these but I think some just don’t look natural to me. I’ll keep trying though >:T
